The Columbus Ice Rink Facebook Fanpage is holding a "Disney on Ice: presents Mickey & Minnie's Magical Journey" Facebook Trivia challenge. The on-line challenge will be held from April 9–April 20. Ten (10) contestants who submit ALL correct answers will be randomly selected for their chance to win four (4) lower–level tickets to the opening night performance! (Thursday April 26, 2012 at 7:00 PM).
To access the Disney On IceFacebook trivia challenge, contestants must "LIKE" the Columbus Ice Rink fan page on Facebook. Georgia Tech Hockey Wins 2nd Columbus Clash in Convincing Fashion
Georgia Tech battled Georgia to a 7-4 win in their opening game, Fri, Nov 18, overcoming a 4-3 deficit while shutting down the Ice Dawgs in the third period under a barrage of 22 shots. Freshman Kenny “ Kid “ McCrary scored 3 goals and added 2 assists to lead the Yellow Jackets. Tech finished their 1st semester with a huge win over #12 Mississippi in the championship game of the Columbus Clash, Nov 19. In a tough, grinding game, Tech goaltender Michael Klein made 27 saves while registering a 2-0 shutout, as freshman Andy Cryan notched the game winning goal.

The team goes into the ACHA December ranking period with a record of 8 wins, 7 losses, while having played seven Top-15 teams in the South Region during the semester. During the break, the Yellow Jackets will plan and participate in two holiday dinner parties through the Atlanta Food Bank.
Dec 2 and Dec 4 the boys will visit Covenant House Georgia to prepare and serve dinner at the shelter’s cafeteria. The team will also collect and distribute toys for the 7th year to children at Scottish Rite hospital through the Children’s Healthcare Network. Last Christmas, the team contributed the largest number of new toys of any 2010 Holiday donor, over 350 toys. GT Hockey will resume play January 8 on home ice against Auburn, at the ICE, in Cumming GA, game time, 11:20am. Admission is free.
Cottonmouths Exhibition Game
On October 13, 2011, the Columbus Cottonmouths put on an exhibition game at the Columbus Ice rink. The rink was packed as fans came to check out some pre-season action.
